CHROMOSCOPE

THE CHROMOSCOPE

Can you speak light?

This product does just that. Designed as a tool for detecting and translating subtle nuiances in landscape environments in order to map emotive principles of space, the chromoscope is a light-to-color, or light-to-audio tool for measuring landscapes in a new way.

By translating light data into a relatable spectrum we can map consciously the effect subtle variances in shade and temperature create in micro environments. Iterations included sensitivity trouble shooting, portability and extension of battery life.

This was a research project under the advisement of Suzanne Mathew, Critic at Rhode Island School of Design.
